The player, a slime from a research lab, analyzes the grid layout ahead of them, searching for the most efficient path to move upward. This is accomplished by prioritizing the keycards (which give you more shifts), and lining up paths that allow the player to advance without expending their shifts. Green acid moves its way up the level, forcing the player to make quicker decisions in order to stay alive. Changing the difficulty alters the amount of keycards, creates more dense grid layouts (making pathfinding more challenging), and the speed of the acid.
